Independent analysts at Great Place to Work® have crunched the numbers and determined that Signature HealthCARE is, indeed, a great workplace. Signature HealthCARE earned this distinction in 2018 based on extensive ratings given by its stakeholders in anonymous surveys.
Live Oak, Florida (February 10, 2017)
Surrey Place Care Center (110 Southeast Lee Ave. Live Oak, FL one of 140 skilled nursing communities in 11 states operated by Louisville, Kentucky-based Signature HealthCARE) recently had a “Spa Day for Men” as a special activity from the Quality of Life Department.
The men at Surrey Place were “catered” to with nail soaking, finger nail filing, finger nail clipping, and most importantly hand massages with lotion. After the event was over, one elder was overheard saying, “If ya’ll are going to do this all the time then I’ll be here everyday!”
“We want to do what we can to make our elders feel comfortable and happy here at Surrey Place everyday if we can,” said Kristi King, quality of life assistant.

The Altrusa Representatives delivered cupcakes and beads to the elders as a special surprise. One elder remarked, “Oh, ya’ll can come back anytime you want if you’ll bring more cupcakes!”
“If we can bring spontaneity with cupcakes to our elders however we can, then it might just brighten their day a little bit!” said Kristi King, quality of life assistant at Surrey Place Care Center.
Surry Place has Western Day!
Live Oak, FLA (August 22, 2016) –Surrey Place Care Center, one of 144 nursing communities operated by Louisville, Ky.-based Signature HealthCARE, recently celebrated Western Day. The special day included Western crafts, watching Western movies, listening to Bluegrass music, and having a “Western style Happy Hour”. Photos were taken through out the day of residents dressed in their best cowboy/cowgirl costumes.
Surrey Place Care Center, one of 72 skilled nursing communities operated by Louisville, Ky.-based Signature HealthCARE, celebrated the era of the 1960s recently. The administrative and clinical staff dressed up in 60s attire. A 60s party was held for the residents to reminisce about flower power, hippies, and bell bottom pants. At the end of the day, all managerial staff danced to the Beatles in the hallways.
We would like to introduce to you the newest member of the Surrey Place family. Her name is Zoey and she has come to live with us.
We have waited a long time for this sweet princess and she is perfect for us. Stop by and visit with us, and we will introduce you to this sweet girl!

Our cookbook contains recipes from our elders, their families and our staff. Please stop by and pick up a copy. They are being sold for $10 each, and all of the proceeds go toward the Elder Activities at Surrey Place.
“You never get too old to enjoy life,” said a 91-year-old Signature resident who traveled to Panama City Beach, Fla. earlier this year, the fourth consecutive year Signature has taken groups of residents on vacation. It was a fun morning “horsin’ around” under the oaks with Mr. Lester and his dog, Jake, and Ms. Doris and her horse, Faith.
Jake welcomed lots of petting, and Faith accepted nose rubs and kisses. They are planning to return to Surrey Place Care Center in cooler weather for a barbecue, more time with the horses, and offer horse and carriage rides.
